Green and simple approach for low-cost bioproducts preparation and CO2 capture

This study has demonstrated, for the first time, a simple, fast and flexible microwave processing method simultaneous preparation of bio-products (bio-oil, bio-gas biochar) using methodology that avoids any form catalyst or chemical activation. The dielectric properties biomass physicochemical characterisation such as TGA, elemental proximate analysis, XRD, SEM/EDX textural properties, showed 8 kJ g ?1 energy can produce superior biochars applications in CO 2 capture. maximum uptake capacity biochar produced was 2.5 mmol 2.0 at 0 25 °C 1 bar, which also exhibited high gas selectivity compared with N , kinetics adsorption (<10 min) desirable reusability (>95%) after 20 cycles. GC-MS analysis generated bio-oil products revealed higher energies (>8 ) significantly enhanced amount (39%) specifically formation levoglucosan, furfural phenolics compounds, identified trace levels H CH 4 . results from this confirm green, inexpensive efficient approach valorisation easily be embedded within bio-refinery process, demonstrates potential post-combustion uptake. • Microwave pyrolysis by simple investigated. influenced yields bio-char properties.
